Number of the Day is a quick activity to reinforce number sense on a daily basis. Students generally work with one number, completing various tasks that reinforce number sense. For example, students may represent the number, use the number in equations, write it in words, determine if it is odd or even, etc.
Number of the Day works well as morning work, a math warm-up at the beginning of math class, or even as material to leave for a substitute teacher.
