Earth Day Math Projects

Earth Day is a great time to tie high-interest, real-life concepts into math. Here are two different math projects that will fit perfectly into your Earth Day plans.

 

OUR EARTH

In this math project your students will work through 11 different Earth Day related tasks. They’ll use graphing and data interpretation in each one. Some of the tasks that your students will be completing include: sorting recyclables, looking at energy consumption, tree planting, and much more!

This project is best-suited to Grades 2-3, but can be useful review for 4th grade as well.

THE EARTH CLUB

In “The Earth Club,” your students will work through a series of math tasks that include graphing and data interpretation, multi-digit operations, fractions, elapsed time, problem-solving, money, and more!

This project is best-suited to Grades 4-5, but can be useful review for 6th as well.
