Work With Me!

Are you a Grades 2-5 teacher who is passionate about teaching math and who loves to write? If so, you might be a good fit for this blog content writer position.

My mission is to help teachers (primarily Grades 2-5) make math fun, exciting, meaningful, and relevant for their students. On my blog you’ll find teaching tips, math games, research-based ideas, as well as posts about how to use my resources. My goal is to provide a wealth of information to inspire teachers and help them teach math in the most effective way possible.

As a blog content writer, you will be responsible for writing several blog posts per month that pertain to some aspect of Grades 2-5 math.

The ideal candidate must:

  • be passionate about teaching math. You are a teacher who gets excited about new ideas that will help your students!
  • love to learn. You love professional development, because you know that one new good idea could have a huge impact on your students!
  • read professional books. On your bookshelf, you can find recently published books by prominent researchers about best practices for teaching math. Your knowledge of math teaching is always growing and your teaching constantly changes because of that.
  • have experience writing articles and write in a clear, concise, error-free manner. You know how to use headings and subheadings in an effective way to help readers find the important details.
  • be highly creative and able to generate unique ideas easily and independently. I take plagiarism very seriously, and all articles will be run through a plagiarism checker.

The following are not required, but are a definite asset:

  • knowledge of WordPress and search engine optimization
  • ability to take staged photographs that can be used within the post (including knowledge of lighting, backgrounds, and presets)
  • knowledge of and experience with Canva
  • experience using my resources

If you are interested in this opportunity, please fill out THIS FORM.  Ideally I would like to hire several writers with different interests and specialities, so please be specific about your strengths.

Please note that only those candidates who I wish to work with will be contacted at this time; however, if you are not contacted about this position, I will keep your information on file for future opportunities.

I will contact the successful applicants near the beginning of January.

Thank you for your interest,

Shelley
