Sharing Our Blessings 2018

As a teacher, I know that you have dedicated your life to making our world a better place. I know that you have a job that never stops, and although it is the most rewarding job out there, it is difficult.

I also know that you don’t hear “thank-you” nearly enough.

So, THANK-YOU! Thank you for everything that you do to help our children. Thank you for your endless dedication to the teaching profession.

It’s a great time of the year to think about what we are grateful for, and to express our appreciation to others. Today I’m joining with some of my favorite TpT bloggers to show YOU just how much you are appreciated!

I’m expressing my thanks in two different ways! First of all, I’m making one of my best-selling gallery walks FREE on two days – Sunday, November 18 and Monday, November 19. This Number Sense Gallery Walk is a fantastic way to get your students up and moving around the classroom while reinforcing important skills. It includes three differentiated levels so that it will meet the needs of a wide range of ability levels.

Personally, gallery walks are one of my favorite classroom activities. I always find that even though all students are up and moving around, classroom management issues are typically non-existent. Students find these fun and motivating, and it’s a great way to reinforce skills that you’ve been working on.

Grab the Number Sense Gallery Walk for free  HERE until midnight on November 19.

Additionally, I’m giving away a $25 TeachersPayTeachers gift card to one lucky winner!  To enter right now, just fill out the entry form below! There are three ways to enter – choose just one, or all 3 for extra entries!

  • I am thankful for my job of teaching kids! We were working in our math centers this week and I heard from several kids that they loved doing math! That made my day! Also, I got an email from a parent telling me that her child was explaining what they had learned that day about the “community” property and that she got a kick out of the explanation! I could not imagine working without my team. They are the best co-workers that anyone could ever ask for! I have a lot to be thankful for!

  • The best thing that happened in my classroom this past week was that I tried something new and it went amazingly well. Instead of giving the students a regular test review to do at their desk with a partner, I put the questions on colored paper, laminated them, and hung them around the room. Then the students had most of the class period to complete as many as they could. I was nervous about how they would behave since that is the first time I’ve done a true around the room, everyone up at once, activity. They behaved so well and most of them answered most if not all of the questions. This is my new favorite way to review and possibly do worksheets.

The best thing that happened in my classroom this week was a wonderful STEM activity! All the 2nd graders made their own Mayflower with a mast and sail. Then they had to be able to carry 3 quarters on board without sinking. The majority were successful!! Hurray!
    Have a fantastic Thanksgiving!
